Bradley D. Baugh is a partner at NORTH WEBER & BAUGH LLP. Mr. Baugh specializes in intellectual property law, with an emphasis in patent law.
Mr. Baugh has prosecuted patent applications dealing with software, image processing, networking, cryptography, and various types of mechanical devices, including medical devices. Mr. Baugh has also been involved in other transactional aspects of intellectual property law, including negotiating and drafting intellectual property license agreements. Mr. Baugh also participates in the evaluation of intangible assets, such as patents and proprietary technology, for litigation, licensing, tax, and acquisition purposes.
Mr. Baugh received his undergraduate education at the Brigham Young University, graduating with a B.S. in Engineering, with minors in Mathematics and Philosophy. Mr. Baugh attended law school at U.C. Berkeley, School of Law (Boalt Hall).
During law school, Mr. Baugh was an article editor and member of the Board of Editors for the Berkeley Technology Law Journal. Mr. Baugh also published an article discussing developments in patent law. Having a focus on intellectual property and technology law, Mr. Baugh earned Boalt Hall’s Certificate in Law and Technology.
Mr. Baugh is currently an adjunct professor at the Santa Clara University School of Law, where he lectures on patent law and patent prosecution. Mr. Baugh has also been named a “Northern California Super Lawyer” in Law & Politics.
Mr. Baugh also serves as a member of the Planning Committee for the Advanced Patent Law Institute, which is sponsored by the Stanford Program in Law, Science & Technology, Berkeley Center for Law & Technology at Boalt Hall, and the University of Texas School of Law.
Prior to founding NORTH WEBER & BAUGH LLP, Mr. Baugh worked at Medlen & Carroll LLP, Fenwick & West LLP, and Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP.
Mr. Baugh also volunteers at Cystic Fibrosis Research, Inc. (CFRI), a nonprofit organization dedicated to funding cystic fibrosis research and to providing educational support programs. Mr. Baugh has served in various capacities at CFRI, including as Vice President of the Board of Directors and as a member of the Research Advisory Committee. He currently is serving as a member of the Board of Directors.
Mr. Baugh is a member of the California Bar, the American Intellectual Property Law Association (AIPLA), the Intellectual Property Section of the American Bar Association (ABA), the Silicon Valley Intellectual Property Law Association (SVIPLA), and is registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
